The T290 features a backlit LCD display, 5 call tones, channel scan, monitor mode, silent operation, and keypad lock. It also features e-Vox voice activation with 9 levels, High/Medium/Low power settings and a low battery indicator. It operates on 700mAh NiMH rechargeable battery packs (included).

Respectable Power and Great Value
Always seems tough to find the watt ratings, but if my research is right this comes in at 2.8 watts. For this price range to get 2 radios with that watt rating is pretty good. Impressed with the initial feel of the radios. Performance first impression are good both in receive and transmit. Receive audio clear, easy to understand. Simple to operate. Has the extra little bit of watt power to help you get your signal out more reliably. Do need your GMRS license but that is super easy to get. Overall good combination of performance and quality at good price for 2 radios.

Very nice radios and built to last.
Very good radios for our needs and battery life well within the norm. I don't know the range of communications but i am glad we do not get interference like with used to get with cheaper model from Amazon...The only negative I have is with the manual. It is too small to read and you are forced to go their webpage to download it.

Great and easy to use two way radios
I had FRS radio before but switched to GMRS radios. The Midland radios I purchased is the best I ever had. It’s clear and powerful. These radios will help me a lot during emergency and when we go camping
Would buy again and recommend to a friend
I have my GMRS license which is required. I bought these for the kid to play around with, and so my gal can't talk to me thru my truck mounted unit when 4 wheeling. I can hear her clearly from about 2 miles away while she is inside the house. Can't really ask for more at this price point.
