Worked great for 3 days...
Well, after much research, I purchased this radio and installed it in my truck. It seemed to work great for 3 days with the exception of a channel selector issue. It seemed to get "stuck" between channels. However, it did not hinder performance and happened so rarely I didn't care. All seemed well until day 3. It was working fine, turned truck off, 4 hours later I returned, started truck, and turned radio on and nothing. I took it to my local radio shop and they determined it was not working. Warranty contact took some time, but the gentleman was nice and once I was able to get in touch with him (in CA), he processed my return authorization quickly. I did learn however, that Galaxy radios have a "floating" board and are more sensitive than other brands. He also stated I shouldn't have a magnetic antenna (Wilson Little Wil) with this brand. Anyway, out another $22 for return shipping and now a week to two turn around on the repair (which is another small CB shop in Erie, PA) I have always owned radios that were "plug and play" and not so sensitive. I hope this is not an ongoing issue and just a minor malfunction. The second star was for the good performance I had in the first three days. I would suggest maybe sticking a cheaper Uniden or Cobra and putting your money into the antenna and wiring.
