The Uniden MHS-550 is an all aluminum construction and is designed to meet the highest rating for water resistance. The MHS-550 is rated at JIS8, allowing the radio to be submerged in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes without damage.

The Uniden MHS-550 lets you boost the transmitter power from 1 Watt to 2.5 or 5 Watts for added transmission distance. The MH-550 allow access to standard AM and FM broadcast bands and to monitor aircraft-to-ground transmissions (108-137MHz)
The Uniden MHS-550 has the ability to scan memory channels, weather alerts, and triple/dual watch.
Includes one Uniden MHS-550 two way radio, drop-in 3 hour fast charger, alkaline battery tray, lanyard and 10 hour LiON rechargeable battery.
The Uniden MHS-550 operates on VHF frequencies, operating best outdoors.
