An adjustable height earbud style earpiece is held in place by a soft rubber frame. A Push-to-talk (PTT) button / microphone can be clipped to your lapel (clip included) or hidden inside a pocket.

excelent and durable

Very good earpiece and microphone. use it in search and rescue and and it is durable. You can listen to it without outside noise distractions and the reception is cleaner than an external mike/speaker. Excellent and it has survived several snags from scrub where it was yanked off my ear. it is comfortable and I can wear it all day long.

Mic isn't good

I've used this product to go skiing/snow mobiling/hiking and the microphone is unclear when speaking through it. It works fine at short distances, but when out past 1/2 mile, it is hard to understand what the user is saying. After I switched back to using the microphone on the radio itself (F3011), the sound was clear as day. The usable range with these is greatly reduced.

Microphone doesn't transmit clearly

I bought two of these to use on a trip to Colorado where we'd be snowmobiling, hiking, and skiing. The ear piece works great. It doesn't fall out and is clear when you're listening. The microphone on the other hand does not transmit very well. Out past a quarter of a mile, you cannot understand the other person very well, but when you switch to them talking on the handset itself, it is very clear. I would recommend someone try a different product if you're looking for something you can talk through without having to grab your handset every time.
