I'm very pleased with my purchase! The radio works wonderful and so do all the items in the kit.I will purchase from this store again and you should order from them! You Will Be Happy You Did!
Great product and I will be using it for personal reasons and for public safety when possible
Have used radio with great success. Both DMR as well as analog. Needs to be direct keyboard entry, out of box.Needs tweeked to bring it in line with amateur use.
I had looked around and found that starter kit is a great value for the price. In the future I will shop here first before I purchase elsewhere.
great deal, fully packaged ready to go. Be prepared to ask for help in programming as with all DMR radios it isn't easy. Staff at store on line was tremendous help, as are other experienced hams it took a while but I'm up and running. Buy the extra Battery with the starter kit. The radio is hefty and seems to be durable.
After a bad experience with an online auction service, and not wanting to give up on digital ham radio, I took the advice of a friend and purchased the DMR starter package from buytworadios.com. The package contained several very usable accessories that compliment the TYT MD 380 radio. The radio speaks for itself. It is a, solid, rugged unit that I have used as both an HT and a mobile radio… very versatile… small but powerful.
good starter in dmr radio
I am really excited about my DMR start up kit, It had everything I needed to get into DMR and the price was right.
Great radio. Prefer to use ground plane mag mount than window mount, though window mount would be useful for a temporary rental vehicle, Holster way too tight - unable to use dials as easily as they should be used, and unable to change antennas without unsnapping the top of holster.Would return the holster if it weren't for the 15% restocking fee.
Loaning to Ham operators on my DMR system
It is easy to use. If there is no repeater in your area consider building one.
Everything in this kit works great. Great sensitivity. Great reports on audio. Who could ask for more.
The MD380U MDR starter kit enables you to use the MD380U as a no battery Mobil with external antenna as well as an HT. I even use mine as a base with my dual Band Base Antenna. Unit has very clear non mechanical audio on DMR and functions well as an analog HT. Just find some local DMR friends or go to yahoo groups for a good code plug for your area and talk away. Software is easy to use.
I use it all the time because I can take it anywhere I go.
