i had this radio i don't know for the life of me why i got rid of this radio...so i'm getting another one and this time i will not get rid of it
I wanted to get back into CB. I also wanted a sideband unit.. The Galaxy radio seemed great. Good price considering the features. I bought one online and set it up. The AM modulation seemed low, but could tweak it via an easily set adjustment inside. SSB Drift as well as the SWR warning light issues.. They are nonfactors. The SWR light NEVER bothered me until I was over 3:1. The defect has been corrected. I had a local SSB contact over 30 minutes and never was there a drift problem. The radio was DEAD ON frequency. If you have a 2011 mode, it appears issues have been resolved. The power, SWR, modulation meter settings seem to be accurate. For SWR, there is NO calibration. What you see on SWR is your EXACT SWR! In my opinion, this is the best legal, FCC approved CB radio out there.
