The Icom IC-F4001 business two way radio is a rather compact 4 watt 400-470 MHz UHF radio designed for daily use while being very tough and economical. The IC-F4001 is a mil spec, and tough 16 channel radio ready for use in a wide variety of business environments. The Icom IC-3001 is ideal for companies that need Mil Spec radios that are also affordable and easy to use.
With 16 channels and CTCSS/DCTS tone filtering you can have interruption free communications. The F4001 has 800mW audio output providing clear, low noise sound output. This is much louder than may radios, making them great for noisy environments. They are also VOX capable, have channels scan, and are PC programmable.
The Icom IC-F4001 comes with a Ni-MH battery pack rated at 14 hours of use. The radio also comes with a belt clip, removable antenna, and charger.

Great Product
We use these radios for our security teams at our church. We are a 6,000 member evangelical church in Fayetteville, Nc. So far these radios have really worked well for us. They are leaps and bounds beyond the frs/gmrs radios we had been using. The signal is strong and clear and covers our entire property. The one complaint I have is that they are somewhat difficult to conceal, but that is overcome by slightly oversize shirts. All in all a great product for us.

Well worth the $ over
I use this radio for communication skiing, and on our remote property. We have 80 acres, and its two miles in from the vehicle. So far I had good reception everywhere. I mainly talk from this radio to mobile radios, in the vehicles, and cabin. I'm also able to hit a repeater (@ 4,100 ft elv.)about 20 - 30 miles away. I have the bubble pack radios as well but this is much better than the other radios in quality. I'm going to order another one of these radios vs. buying any more of the other bubble pack radios.
Quality Radio and Helpful Customer Servi
I phone customer service and got the right product and programing to match what the Metro NY PCA uses. Contact was very helpful and I had my radio in a few days. Would like it better at a lower price but it is a rugged well made radio which hope serves me for many years.

Awesome Radios
I did a lot of research trying to find high quality radios for use in a SHTF situation. These radios are excellent and I am extremely happy with my purchase. The guys and gals at Cricket Ventures (Buy Two Way Radios) were down-to-earth and very helpful. I am going to buy more of these radios for my "team."

I bought two of these and just love them. I bought two additional radios so now I have four. I had them all programmed by Cricket Ventures to have Privacy Codes. They work perfect out of the box. It takes a long time to charge the radios but the better way to go is get the AA battery packs because you actually get more power using AA batteries instead of the rechargeable battery that comes with the radio. Plus in a SHTF situation, you might not be able to recharge the battery...hence AA's are the ticket.
