the longer the better
This antenna will increase coverage with the Wouxun KG 850G. I can hit a repeater 12 miles away with it. Well worth the money.
Really nice antenna
Cannot give a thorough review for this antenna at the present time because I have been unable to thoroughly test. On the surface it is a well made antenna. It does seem to have much better TX/RX functionality. Works far greater distances than the stock antenna. Going to put it through more testing and will report back. May purchase the smaller (8.6 inch) quarter wave Nagoya for another comparison.
excellent product
bought both the long and short 462 mghz antenna for five watt radios..increased the range and signal clarity also used a quarter wave counter poise with the short antenna...radios are used for sierra back packing and for vehicle communications
Noticeable improvement
Tested this antenna, the shorter NA-701G and the stock antenna on a Wouxun KG-805G. Simplex over ~3.5 mile distance with hilly terrain inbetween. The 771G had the best signal (~S8), not surprisingly. The 701G was a bit less strong and clear (~S6) and the signal from the stock antenna was scratchy and weaker (~S3). Not a scientific test by any means and it was expected that the taller, 1/2 wave antenna would perform best.
Works well at 462..
With my base station going offshore to The horizon the antenna works right at 12 miles.. the stock antenna would get about eight.. tested with 5 watt.. using a 7db gain base station antenna about 32 ft high.. 50 w output.. the service was great as my antenna was lost in the mail.. along with my vote.. lol.. no problem with confirming the tracking number and finding it at the post office.. which was repetitiously sending it to the wrong address.. thanks for the good customer service guys..

I recently purchased, received, and returned a so-called Nagoya HT antenna from another source (not BuyTwoWayRadios). I believe I received a knock-off0 Since I have had very good luck with BTWR before, I decided to try them. Quick shipment and the antenna was exactly as described. Fits perfectly, SWR reasonable and I am happy with it. Thank you.

Get Two
This 15 inch antenna is so good... people think I'm on a 20 watt mobile when in fact using a KG-805G at 5 watts. Reason for saying buy two is I got another 805G and now it is out of stock... Sad, can not reach repeater or G daughter.
