Yikes not exactly what I expected.
I was looking for some speaker mics, for my new Wouxun KG-935G Plus radios and stumbled on to this model. I was very curious because it looked identical to my Motorola PMMN4013A. I was used to the performance I got on my older Motorola and comparing that to this XLT SM400 is striking. The fidelity, overall sound is tinny and underpowered compared to the rich loud output of the Motorola. I was really disappointed but will keep them and throw them into my box of older UV-5 radios. Sure these speaker mics may sound "good" and perform "well", but compared to the Motorola its no contest. The XLT SM400 also does not handle full speaker volume well, it starts to distorts as it reaches 100%. The Motorola handles full power much better. I have opened both mics and can tell you, that there is a massive difference in electronics.
