Quick Overview

The Motorola T9680R-SAME two way radio adds emergency prepardness functionality to Motorola's most powerful consumer two way radio. The T9680RSAME has the same powerful transmitter and antenna as the popular T9500XLR, but it also provides "SAME" technology. This technology will proactively warn you to weather, natural, national and civil emergencies. This model also provides all of the features you would expect in a high end model: VibraCall vibrating alert, hands-free vox mode, and NOAA weather channels.

The Motorola T9680R-SAME two way radio adds emergency prepardness functionality to Motorola's most powerful consumer two way radio. The T9680R-SAME has a slightly longer antenna than previous Talkabout models, giving it a potential 28 mile maximum range in optimal conditions (typically 2 miles in urban conditions).

In addition to providing great range as a two way radio, the Motorola T9680RSAME is also a Hazard Alert radio, features the SAME technology. With SAME technology, when a severe weather or civil emergency occurs an alert will sound notifying you of danger, and a description of the alert will appear on the display. No longer do you have to monitor the NOAA weather stations yourself, the T9680R-SAME will do it for you and pro-actively alert you to danger.

A Hazard Alert radio, like the Motorola T9680, is critical in areas where severe weather can occur without warning. These devices have saved many lives in areas like Tornado Alley by waking people or simply giving them enough warning time to reach a safe location. Early warning is your best defense in an emergency!

With the iVOX hands free feature the T9680RSAME acts as a speaker phone, allowing you to use your hands for other activities. Hands free (VOX) mode on this model works with or without an optional headset. The T-9680R-SAME also supports Motorola's VibraCall vibrating alert. With VibraCall, you can lower your radio volume and still ensure that you never miss a transmission.

The Motorola T9680RSAME radios support all 22 FRS and GMRS channels with an amazing 121 interference eliminator (privacy) codes per channel. This model also offers a channel scan feature, your choice of 10 call tone alerts, and a backlit display.

This value pack includes two Motorola T9680R-SAME two way radios, one dual-pocket desktop charger, and NiMH rechargeable batteries for each radio.

I was very disappointed with these. They have an extremely short range....no where near what they should be. We only used them once because they are so bad.
