These radios are easy to use, have great sound and great range. When you are ready to move up from GMRS/FRS this is the perfect radio. We're responsible for 300 marchers in our high school band and these radios gives us the confidence to go anywhere.
l was looking for different radio's and after reading all of thr reviews on this radio it was my choice to get this one no questions so i got two .
No complaint at all
Very pleased with the product. will buy again
Won't transmit or receive
need to communicate with other workers
We use these radios to pull wire and to test cables. We also use them to align cameras. Great radio, we had been using VHF radio. The UHF radios work better for our needs. school campuses and government facilities.
This product is used for warehouse communication. Works for our needs. Durable and good product for the money.
Use around the farm
I like this radio it's midsize easy to carry & use , I had it programmed with the frequencies that I wanted in the radio, also had the radio programmed with a scan button.
I bought 9 of these radios and used them for a military event and they worked great. The radios were spread out over a 2 mile area and never failed us. Very crisp and clear, we could hear each other even though about 2500 spectators were present. I'm buying 3 more!
For years, we used Motorola Model RDU4100 walkie talkies in our 400,000+ square foot, 4-story manufacturing plant. The Motorolas worked fine - when they worked. They just weren't durable. They'd frequently break, or rubber button covers would pop off after one drop. These ICOMs are great. We bought a half dozen last year to try them out. Not only are they 40% cheaper than the Motorolas, they seem to be much more durable. Range is excellent and sound quality is good. We have not had any problems, and recently bought 6 more to replace the last of the Motorolas.
I purchased 6 of these 7 years ago for our horticultural nursery. We have been very pleased with the range and durability. Our nursery operates on 25 acres and reception is fairly reliable throughout the property. We now have 18 radios in service.
We are located in a solid brick/concrete building where transmissions are easily blocked. With our new redios we have clear reception through the entire building. Good purchase.
Very easy website to order from and when I have needed a real person they are knowledgeable and very professional.
The radios are rugged enough for everyday use in the shops The range is excellent covering all 11 acres of are facility Communications clarity and numerous channels fills all are needs You get what you pay for and we are very pleased and will order more as we grow
Good radio for our security team. Simple, dependable, basic work horse. Searched for weeks and the best price I could find was at Buy 2 Way Radios. We plan to buy more of these. Radio sounds great with the Impact Platinum 1-wire surveillance kit.
Great Radios! We've been using about a dozen since 2009 and only one has (sort-of) broken. (Something is wrong with the volume control); you have to jiggle it to have the transmission come though sometimes - which means you miss stuff! BUT! All the rest have had no problems and they are used daily. Good range for our 300,000 sq/ft indoor and outdoor facility and very clear. We just ordered one more radio without hesitation. And the accompanying base-station is insane... that thing will transmit for MILES! 16 channels are more than we need; but certianly nice to have. We have them programmed to "sub-channels", so there's the "sub-channel delay" (as I call it), but you'll get that with any radio (I think?) Anyway, it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, I recommend! :)
Customer support is 2nd to none. Helped me pick the radio best fit my needs and programmed for me as well. Thank you!
We use the radios in a multi-location business. These ICOM radios are perfect for the distance INCLUDING all parties being in separate steel buildings. I do not have personal experience with the radios but the feedback I am getting from choosing these radios is great. We started off with 3 to try them out and ended up getting 3 more. And I would get more too, if need be.
very good product and easy to use, we got over a half mile of coverage on this radio
I ordered 2 to make sure they would stand up to our rigorous daily usage. Less than a month later I ordered 2 more. They are used inside and out in a dusty and hard labor environnment in all 4 Ohio seasons. The employees say they really like them and I plan on ordering more. I'll report back in a year and see how they have fared but as of a few months in we are quite happy.
Great product for the price! Really enjoy using this radio!
The radios were for Canada and the shipping was fast and just what I ordered.
We use the radios at work to talk from office to shop. The shop is in a different metal building 300 feet away. We have used the cheaper 2 way radios for 10 years and every year they go bad and we are replacing them. We always had a hard time hearing them talk and in some areas of the building we had no reception. This new radio is clear and is loud enough to here over machines and other noises and the radio works anywhere in the building with no dead spots. Its great, I wish I bought it years ago.
We use these iCom radios throughout the facility for maintenance communications. We recently added our production leaders to use the radio also. It is robust and works well. Thanks for the help!
Great durable radios. We use them for our employees between two buildings. the range seems to work well even between buildings, and all other radios we have had have broken rather quickly.
Use radios for construction site for all forman and crane operator. Could not be any happier with proformance.
Was impressed with the fast shipping and the ease of calling and getting any questions answered fast no long waiting on hold :) Was kinda disappointed in the price to pay to buy the kit to program the radios urself .
I've used other radio's, the fact that ICON is not only Rugged and durable, it's water resistant, can handle the toughest conditions, and is built to Military specs. We bought two for our Motorcycle salvage yard and just bought a 3rd. My boss loves it, he carries it on him at all times. Excellent reception with plenty of power to communicate anywhere we need. Great Radio's, great price. Thanks again. Flaggman
We use these on commercial fire tests in medium to large facillities. We clip them to our belts, and use the heavy duty speaker mics. The batteries last all day, and the chager takes three hours or less to fully charge the batteries. These radios cost about half of what comparable Motorola's or Kenwood's would have cost.
This radio is very good for the value. The audio is just ok. The range is usually about 2 miles or so. I also have the VHF versions and they are horrible. These are a drastic improvement over those range wise.
I work on a 50 acre hacienda in Nicaragua, with a varied landscape of hills and valleys. On any given day my employees are scattered throughout the area working on different projects but still need to coordinate their efforts. The Icoms have proven to be exactly what we needed. In 3 years we went through 8 pairs of cheaper walkie-talkies (Motorola & Uniden). They just couldn't stand up to our environment nor could they transmit and receive clearly. Also, the struggle to prolong their cheap rechargeable batteries was one we could never win. I recommend these to anyone in need of a durable, affordable, high quality communication device that you can depend on.
Use the radio for 2 - 3 mile communication while farming. Excellent little radio. We use the external mic., it works well. Folks at buytworadios were knowledgeable and set it up on our frequency. Worked perfect right out of the box. Showed up on time as promised. Great experience!
This radio is said to be a fairly rugged radio. We will put this claim to the test. Our field crew's spend every day in the woods using the radio's constantly and are pretty tough on equipment. We have used other brands of radio's for the past 20 years with mixed results. Hopefully the claims I read online will be true. We will see.
Radios were returned and did not work well
[...] The product was correctly described, [...] and was competitively priced. [...] we are very happy with the product. The clarity is better than any we've used, and they seem to be very durable.
Easy to understand and assemble
We have purchased 15 of these radios for use in our business. We operate a 40 acre nursery/garden center. The radios are affordable and reliable. I have been pleased with the product and advice offered by the sale associate. We have used them about 1 yr with no problems. Battery life has been excellent. Range is acceptable in most situations, even considering the size of our facility. We had used the cheaper radios, but they didn't serve our purpose well. I hope that the ICOM radios will prove to be a great investment for our business.
Using it for skiing. [...]
We are a residential treatment facility and have many departments that use radios for communication across our campus. We rely heavily on these radios for safety when things get chaotic and someone needs help. We have purchased over 20 of the ICOM IC-F4011. They get dropped from heights as far as 12 feet and still work great.
