Very easy to install drivers from the CD. Cable works great with the KG-1000G. Very easy to get set up to start programming the radio.

Having installed and still using a similar cord for the KG935 and UV9G. Installation was easy. (just changed the Com port) and bing all is good.

Quick PSA: Use Chirp (a free open source software), not the included Wouxon software.
The cable does what it’s supposed to do. It creates a serial connection to the radio to download / upload data.
It’s a little frustrating that we’re still using slow serial connections for these radios. I would rather the radio have a non-proprietary USB connection (especially if it also supported audio over USB for data modes). But it does work, and it works as designed!

Serves its purpose
Connected easily and appears to be made well. I personally think this should be included with the radio purchase BUT I do understand that some people would end up with more than one if that were the case. Either way... it works.
Works But Why Do We Have To Install a Driver?
Works fine after you install the driver. But, many computers don't have a CD or DVD drive anymore and also, why with Windows 10 do we even have to install a driver at all? I program many types of radios for our offroad club and have many cables and this is the only one you have to mess around installing drivers. Suggestion: At least provide the driver on an USB stick, not a mini-CD, as most new computers don't have a CD or DVD drive anymore.

Works fine. Unfortunately looks like my KG1000G is blown. Can't find out where I can get it repaired?

cable and driver disc arrived ok. disc was empty. i downloaded driver and installed, no problem. thanks
