Read the Instructions
Be sure to closely follow the instructions from the Buy Two Way Radios (BTWR) website. Forget about the included CD-Rom Wouxun includes and follow the BTWR website directions to the letter.
It works
You plug one end into the radio. You plug the other end into your PC. It works!
Unfortunately, it's a shame you have to buy one. Instead of including some sort of a standardized port on the device, you have to use this one; and it isn't included with the radio. And; well, the software absolutely sucks.

It worked, but only thanks to John at BTWR
It's plug-n-play so long as your computer comes with the drivers - which mine did not. The BTWR site has the download available but I found unzipping and getting it loaded on my laptop a challenge (I'm an idiot!). But one call to John and by screen-sharing, John fixed everything. Thanks, John!!!
Great Programming Cable!
When I first tried the cable, it wouldn't connect. But Buy Two Way Radios sent a CD Driver disk with the antenna I had also ordered. I had no idea why or what it was for, but I installed the drivers. Then, the subsequent times I connected the cable, it worked perfectly! Unlike some of the comments already submitted, I think the Wouxun software is quite good and intuitive. But it could be improved if each setting in the configuration section and perhaps elsewhere had a clear description.
KG-100G Cable
The cable works, is reasonably priced, and I got it in a few days.
The software is all anyone needs to program the KG-1000G. It is basic but complete software, it allows you to put information into your radio and, if the information you put into your radio is accurate, it will allow you to transmit and recieve to another radio or repeater very easily.

Works well. My laptop did required some assistance from a family member to get the COM PORT to recognize the cable.
It works well, after you intall the driver for the cabel!
It took a while to figure out why I could not program my radio or work other applications from my laptop... it was only after I took a step back from it all and started troubleshooting from the very front... the cable has a driver? Sure enough! flows like hot butter afterwards!
