The Motorola RDM2020 MURS two way radio has 2 channels and 2 watts of power. It comes standard with support for all five license free MURS frequencies. The RDM2020 is convenient and simple to use. The Motorola RDM2020 operates on VHF MURS frequencies. MURS frequencies do not require a license and are approved for use by individuals as well as businesses! The RDM2020 supports all five MURS VHF frequencies and is, by default, set to MURS 154.570 (channel 1) and 154.600 (channel 2). Other frequencies can be selected simply by going into programming mode and changing the frequency number. These default frequencies are two of the most common frequencies used by many older VHF radios such as the Kenwood TK-2200 and Motorola XTN XV1100, XTN XV2100, and XTN VX2600 series radios.
The following are the five MURS frequencies supported by this model:
Motorola's RDM series radios are 30% louder than even the highly regarded XTN and AX series. Audio clarity has been improved from previous models as well.
Includes one Motorola RDM2020 MURS two way radio, drop-in charger and 12 hour lightweight lithium rechargeable battery.

this motorola is a rock solid radio it stands up to rain and severe handling and just keeps working battery life is excellent it lasts two shifts before recharging

Excellent 2-way communications
Great reliable communication over land, not line of sight, for over a mile. Tried GMRS and FRS and both are unreliable, even when in line of sight, for short distance communication (far less than a mile even though advertised 14 mile range). These MURS units are fabulous and reliable. Worked great from inside rock home with metal roof for about 1.25 miles in hilly Central Texas. WOW!!!!!!
More powerful than it seems!
The 2 watts may not seem strong enough to punch through a brick and steel high school for 3,000 students it can do it! I had 2 of these for an event that our high school and used these for parking and for communicating from one side of the school to the other and they worked fantastically! BEST OF ALL THEY DON'T REQUIRE AN EXPENSIVE LICENSE BECAUSE THEY ARE MURS AND ALMOST NO ONE ELSE THAT HAS THEM!
