TYT Correcting Production Problems with MD-2017 Programming Cable

With our first batch of TYT MD-2017's, we had a few customers call complaining of issues programming the radio. After some back and forth, we identified the issue as being a poor solder within the radio connector on the programming cable. Customers with this issue were not able read their radios from the programming software.

TYT has confirmed the issue, and are immediately working to correct the problem. We are told that all of our future shipments will have the updated cable, so if you order a radio or a cable from this point forward you won't have to worry about this issue.

This issue affected a very small number of customers (less than 3%), so we appreciate TYT's willingness to make the fix a priority.

will you be replacing all the programming cables that have been sold?

now i know it wasnt me why I cannot program the radio !

Hi Steve, not all cables were affected, however if your cable was obtained from us at Buy Two Way Radios and it is confirmed to be defective, we will certainly work with you to replace it. Hi Guys,
I bought a TYT 2017 from you and I am only going to get to it when I return home next month.
I have however been seeing reports of a weak antenna connector, have you guys had any reports from your clients as I am wondering if this is happening a lot.

Hi Trevor, although we have heard a rumour or two, we've only received one comment so far about a possible issue with the antenna connector on the MD-2017, however we have yet to determine if it was due to a manufacturer defect or from overhandling. We are monitoring this and will continue to work with TYT to resolve such issues as they arise.
