Hi Roy, word from Wouxun is that the 2.5k step is hardware related, so it would not be possible to perform a firmware update to change the 5k step to 2.5k.

Is it possible that when the 2.5 step is released the firmware can be updated on the 5k units? I just ordered one from you and it should ship next week. I hope to have the option to use with my Fire Department as well as HAM uses and our EMS freq will need the 2.5 step.

According to Wouxun, the radio is type accepted for Part 90. The FCC ID initially provided for this radio is the same as the KG-UV6D. While this is not unusual for multiple radios of the same model series to have the same FCC ID, this particular series is causing some confusion and we are working to sort it out.
The step is currently 5KHz, however, Wouxun has informed us that the radio will be available in 2.5KHz step a few months after launch.
We only had time to produce a quick unboxing video to start. We do have more videos planned in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

OK. we seen it turned on and off. The outside looks great. Lets see it in use? Scanning? Is it or not, Part 90? The FCC ID is no where to be found. The step only shows 5 KHZ step. I'm not finding the 2.5 KHZ? Your site states it is Part 90. We as customers need this information before shipping.
