An organization dedicated to the use and development of amateur radio, the IARU has millions of licensed ham operators worldwide. Each year on April 18, amateur radio operators around the globe get on the air to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day or WARD.
According to tradition, each year the IARU chooses a theme for Amateur Radio Day. This year the theme is Human Security for All, HS4A. The theme commemorates the role of amateur radio in addressing this need.
