The Wouxun KG-824B is built with a superheterodyne receiver for reliable communication on the job. It features English voice prompts, VOX and low battery alert. It has a programmable side key and a Monitor key for quick and convenient access to select functions. It also has a built-in flashlight.
The KG-824B is IP55 dust and water resistant for use in most indoor and outdoor business operations. The 1700mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack provides many hours of operation on a single charge and can be recharged quickly using the smart drop-in desktop charger.

Excellent Part 90 business radio
I purchased one Wouxun KG-824B to test against our aging but excellent KG-833 radios that we use at the track. The KG-833 seems to be discontinued, but in head-to-head tests against our existing KG-833, plus the TYT UV390 and the Wouxun KG-UV6D and KG-UV7D, the KG-824B is a worthy replacement as a Part 90 radio.
It has excellent range and clarity that is at least as good as the KG-833, and the bonus is that it uses the same chargers and batteries as the 833. It was easy to remove the default frequencies and program them to our assigned business frequencies in the 453 and 457 MHz bands.
Head-to-head testing also reveals why I have never been happy with the UV6D or the UV7D. I always suspected their performance was sub-par in analog business frequencies against the KG-833, and this proves it. When I would use the 7D as a backup at the flag station, it would miss calls that were easily picked up by the KG-833, even though the 833 was on my belt and the UV7D was high up on wall of the flag station.
I would highly recommend the KG-824B for business use, and buytwowayradios as a radio dealer. They even tested our assigned frequencies for me just to be sure the radio would accept them no problem.
If anyone else is interested in other things I have learned by subjecting our radios to rough usage and adverse weather conditions, I could sum up with two things in particular: the body is an excellent RF shield and if you wear your radio on your belt like most of us do (in conjunction with a racing headset) you will drop parts of a few calls if your body is between the radio and the transmitter; and if there is a stiff wind blowing, turn away so your body shields the microphone from the wind, or otherwise, all they hear is static.
