The KG-935H combines many standard features of the popular KG-UV8H with some of the advanced functionality of the KG-Q10 to create an all new portable handheld experience for hams. It packs it all in a rugged, durable shell that is rated IP66 for dust and water protection.
The KG-935H features 999 programmable memory channels with CTCSS/DCS encode/decode, Channel Name edit and display, Dual Standby, DTMF encoding, SOS function, low voltage voice prompt, VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation and a built-in FM radio. It also includes a built-in stopwatch.
Want to know the weather? The KG-935H does that too. Stay informed with 7 NOAA weather channels and automatic weather alerts, keeping you up-to-date with critical weather information. Good versatile radio
I like the radio especially it's extended functionality but I'm not a fan of the screen colors, many are difficult to see in bright sunlight.. also either use Chirp or RT software as menu programming is difficult at best..
Excellent radio
Had owned multiple hand held radios from various manufacturers. Have found my KG-935G radios to be the best overall quality. The KG-935H did not disappoint me in any way. It is a 935G in every way other than frequency range.
Good radio with a few quirks
Overall, this is a very good radio. I love the large capacity battery and on-battery USB-C charging. Also, I love how solid the radio feels in hand. However, I find the loud beeps that are emitted at startup and when certain keys are pressed (e.g., the scan button) to be quite annoying and, so far, I've found no way to silence them. (That includes having set menu choices 26 and 31 to "off".) Perhaps someone has a solution or maybe a firmware upgrade could address this issue. One other issue: At times when in channel mode, the radio will display a number, rather than the channel name. Examples that I've seen include "1119" and "344114". Any explanation of this would be much appreciated.
Now we’re talking
New to hobby and didn’t want to go too deep financially. Started out with the cheaper imports. Wouxun is such a step up in quality and feel. I think we could possibly looking at equal quality to the $400 to $800 imports.
Stopped working after 2 weeks
Don’t waste your money on this one. It’s difficult to program, doesn’t come with a cable for the downloadable software. After a week of messing with the settings and reading the manual 4-5 times I got my local repeater programmed and participated in the evening Net, worked great! Then I turned it on 2 days later and it shows received signal when I call to the repeater but no sound comes out. Oh, and if your finger just happens to land on the battery contacts on the back while transmitting, you get shocked.
enticing challenge
no formal education in electronics so this radio has inspired hours of learning discoveries. It is great fun to explore it's technical marvels. I am eager to learn more. A great radio experience. Thank you.
Bad Radio
I've bought 1 4 months ago, manually programmed it and every now and again it randomly showed me a six digit number on the display and have no idea what it means. I have since returned it and bought a new one that had the same issue where once in a while still came up with a six digit number on the display. They need to fix this issue cause it makes their radios look really bad with this issue. That's why I have returned them.
Good hiking radio
Yes, it has it's quirks but once the programming is done and a quality antenna is installed it works! It takes the hits and drops but still transmits. I would like to see the next TRI-BAND unit to be H2O proof. I have two of these HTs. They work for the purpose I bought them for and if they break, they did not break the bank.

My 3rd Wouxun 935, 1=G & 2=H's, really like all of them. "SWEET".
Solid Performer
This KG-935H adds to my "fleet" of two 935G's and two KG-1000's. I've had for 6-8 months and have used it quite a bit, but yesterday it got a workout.
I do ARES/AuxComm volunteer work, and yesterday was the Chattanooga, TN Ironman 140 race--it starts with a 2.4 mile swim at 6:00am (still dark), followed by a back to back 112 mile bicycle race and a 26.2 mile marathon. Competitors have 18 hours to finish.
I manned a marathon station and relayed counts of runners passing my point every 30 minutes for 12 hours, plus relaying information on injured or exhausted competitors to net control. I brought two spare KG-935x batteries, and a battery pack with AA alkaline batteries--I did not want to run out of juice during this operation!
After 12 hours, the original battery was only discharged to 64%--I only used 1/3 of it's charge in 12 hours!
