Prepper Walkie Talkie Kit - Family Comm Package (2 Radios)

Purchased the two radio package along with the additional accessories package..

So far, these radios are performing as I was expecting. I can easily hit our local city repeater, and another repeater about thirty miles away that's serves another city.

These radios were purchased as a Back Up option to the loss of cellular, or land line phone service in case the world turns ugly.

I've family scattered throughout the area, and now we will have options "just in case"

Other family members are now going to purchase their own KG - 805G radios so we can now close this loop.

I've not yet tried to hit further out repeaters yet, but will get on the roof of the house, or try a tall bridge to seek if it can be done.

It'd be good to know if it can, or can not make the trip..

If you are buying KG-805G this kit is the way to go. I was going through all the optional equipment then ran across this kit. It has it all. Save time and money and get everything you need, that you didn't know you needed.

Just received my kit and have not used these yet. I have to say after watching all the You Tube positive reviews, I realized these were the radios, I had been looking for. The purchase process was flawless. The customer service at buy two way radios was impeccable - the price was fair and the shipment arrived before I expected it to. A very pleasant experience. Set radios up and they performed better than expected. Great range up here in Northern Maine. So far no complaints.

While I did not purchase this kit as a "prepper". it was the best way to get all of the accessories for the KG-805G in one order. These are amazing radios. I have a total of 4! Now I can't wait to get my backordered KG-935G. I will probably end up getting at least 1 more if it is what I expect.

Nice kit, I have 3 Wouxon's and have yet to be disappointed. Haven't noticed any difference with the Nagoya 701. I'm in a sparsely populated area so that is a factor to include.

I purchased this kit because I wanted a GMRS radio set for the Jeep my wife purchased. I'm a newbie to the world of consumer radios and decided to get my GMRS license so I could use radios with a bit more power than the FRS radios (again, I'm a newb).

Anyway the kit comes with extra batteries, adapters, longer antennas, and of course the radios. One of the extra high capacity batteries wouldn't charge and after chatting online with a couple of folks at Buy Two Way Radios, they sent a replacement which is charging correctly (received it today). I tested all of the accessories and they worked as they should.

My only criticism would be the programming cable. They should add one to the kit. Other than that, the kit is great. Order the programming cable if you want to customize some channels, channel names, roger beeps, and repeater specifics (again, I'm a newb and haven't explored this side of GMRS yet).

I did an impromptu range test with the radios. One had the longer antenna and the other had the antenna that came on the radio. I drove out about a mile and RX/TX was good with my wife at home.

I want to stress that the folks at Buy Two Way Radios did a great job of support in regards to the bad battery I received. They're a good outfit. I'm now considering a mobile station, KG 1000, for more power...

I got these for camping. In my first outing, they worked great. I was glad to have them as there was no cell phone coverage at the state park. I was surprised by the range on the low power FRS channels 8-14 through the woods of the state park and never needed to move off a low power channel the whole weekend. Full quieting for all our communication, even when from the main park office to the campground.

One of the other reviews mentioned only getting 2 belt clips, my package came with 4 batteries and 4 belt clips so Yay!

I felt this package was a really good deal as far as price. I wanted to get spare batteries and by the time you buy two radios and two spare batteries (this was during a pandemic shortage so prices were inflated a bit) you're very close to the cost of this package and it includes numerous other accessories.

Worked right out of the box, well packaged, and all hardware was well made. After batteries charged we upgraded the stock antenna with a Nagoya NA-77 and went out to test them in a rural area through many trees, ranches, homes, and barns. We had crystal clear communication at 4 miles with no repeater, 5 miles was rather broken up but still discernible. The 5 watt channels 1-7 really do make a difference. I purchased three of these prepper packages for my family and we're very, very satisfied with their performance. Looking now at the KG-1000G dual set up to use as a repeater and one more for my truck. So far, really liking the product.

First, customer service. I was sold on these radios as soon as I experienced working with BuyTwoWayRadios.com. One call, and I became a loyal customer. All my questions were answered, recommendations made sense, patience demonstrated. Awesome.

Second, the radios. These KG-805G radios are the best GMRS radios I have ever seen. They are quality machines that blow away what you can buy "off the shelf" from Motorola or Midland. I expect these will hold up to years of use and abuse. They receive well, are high powered, and transmit well, and that is before you throw on the Nagoya NA-771G included in this package.

Third, the Nagoyas. This was one reason I went with the this package. We were very excited to use the Nagoyas, and they are tremendous when you are sitting just outside range and need that extra receive or gain. However, for our use, and very much to our surprise, we did not need to use them often. The radios transmit so well with the rubber ducks, we were able to hit the repeaters we wanted without the Nagoyas. So when outside, we use the rubber ducks, and are hoping a stub is made soon. For most other uses, especially when indoors, we use the Nagoyas.

Fourth, all the other little accessories may come in handy some day, especially if using these in the car or in survivalist mode. The high capacity batteries are much heavier, but that was to be expected.

Finally, There is only one thing missing if you like belt clips. Each radio comes with a battery and a belt clip that attaches to the battery. The kit also come with two extra batteries, but does not include the extra belt clips for those batteries. So if you want those extra clips, make sure you buy them as well.
