Wouxun KG-935H programming and menu options

The Wouxun KG-935H is an extremely powerful and versatile portable handheld amateur radio designed for hams who want maximum performance coupled with maximum functionality. Although it has the same look and feel of the KG-UV8H, it includes significant changes and upgrades, many of them directly taken from it's GMRS counterpart, the KG-935G Plus. Essentially, it's a ham version of the KG-935G series, so if you're a ham who is also a fan of what is considered one of the most popular GMRS radios on the market today, welcome home.

Although it shares many of the core features of the 935G Plus, the 935H is strictly a ham radio, so it only transmits on ham bands. However, unlike the UV8H, which is a dual bander, The 935H is a tri-band radio, which means that it is capable on transmitting on the 2 meter, 1.25 meter (aka 220 MHz) 70cm bands. It is also capable of transmitting at up to 8 watts. This is no cheap UV-5R. The KG-935H is a premium grade, portable handheld amateur powerhouse.

Programming the KG-935H
As it is with all of the standard Wouxun GMRS radios we carry, the KG-935H is fully programmable from a PC using a programming cable and the Wouxun KG-935H programming software or directly from the keypad of the radio itself. In fact, while customizing the old, legacy KG-UV8H from the keypad is fairly easy (if you can get through the manual, that is), The KG-935H is much, much easier, thanks to a better, more organized menu and a better, easier to read manual.

Direct from the radio
If you know how to program new channels and frequencies into a Wouxun KG-935G series or another Wouxun radio, you're half way there already. If not, or if you are new to programming radios altogether, The KG-935H owners manual has you covered. It was specifically written to get you up to speed quickly. The manual is written in plain English with illustrations and instructions that are easy to understand.

The KG-935H menu consists of 65 items. Default settings are bold.

Programming with software
The KG-935H uses the same Wouxun PCO-001 USB programming cable that works with almost all of the other handheld radios from Wouxun . Refer to the cable driver installation instructions for more information.

Of course, the Wouxun KG-935H programming software is specific to this radio and is currently available for Windows PCs only. The programming software is located under the Downloads tab on the Wouxun KG-935H product page at Buy Two Way Radios.

KG-935H Operation
The KG-935H operates in much the same way as other Wouxun handheld radios with full keypads, displays and menus. If you already have a KG-UV8H or other Wouxun radio that is field configurable, operating the KG-935H is about the same. Although some keys on the keypad may be different in label and function from some of the other models, they are not difficult to to use once you understand what they do.
