Lately the Kenwood NEXEDGE radios are becoming very popular, especially for use as GMRS radios because they are fully type accepted. Well, we can get those for you. Kenwood will not allow us to put them on our website due to sales restrictions, but we can still order as many as you want.

In fact there are a lot of things we can get, that for one reason or another we are not able to list on our website. This is usually due to sales agreements with the manufacturer, or it is something that is just not in common demand. We pride ourselves on stocking just about everything we sell here at our shop, so if enough people show interest in something we will do what we can to carry it. A news story just popped up about a person in Chicago using a radio to impersonate transit workers and causing bit of trouble for people using Chicago trains. No one was hurt by his pranks, but this could have been a much more serious story very easily.

Now some may try to use this as a reason to have radio licensing more heavily enforced, but that would not have stopped any of this. However, if you wonder why two way radios are often limited in broadcasting power, this is one of them.

There are always going to be people like the one in the story. If you misuse radios in this manner you probably will be caught eventually. When someone does something like this it does have ramifications on everyone in the radio community. So people, use some sense when you operate a radio.

Yup, the news is now out, we are now an official Icom two way radio dealer. It allows you to talk to both consumer GMRS radios, and low powered UHF business radios like the Kenwood TK-3200L and the Motorola RDU2020. It is also repeater capable, has a removable antenna and we have then for $124.99.

I know that a lot of you have been looking for a high quality GMRS radio that is also repeater capable. Well, these even have removable antennas! I was very excited when I found out that we would be carrying these, and I am certain that a lot of you will be as well.
