Yes. This radio is fully compatible with all 22 channel FRS, GMRS, or FRS/GMRS combo radios.
Single radio.
While this radio is easy to use and is compatible with other FRS and GMRS radios, it was designed with power users in mind. It is
more durable, is higher wattage, is equipped with a more powerful battery and has better audio quality than typical consumer radios. It is also IP67 dust and waterproof, meaning it's submersible! Plus it has Bluetooth audio. Basically, it is built like a business radio.
It also has advanced features that would usually appeal more to "power users," such as repeater support
and the ability to use PC programming software to customize the channels list.
Yes, if you use the programming software (available from the Downloads tab). The KG-S88G Plus supports up to 400 custom channels, and with the software you can add new channels or even remove standard ones. The CTCSS/DCS tones can be customized for each channel and can be different for transmit and receive.
Extra channels are useful for many reasons. If you access different repeaters that use the same frequency but different tones, it's more convenient to add each combination to its own channel instead of changing tones through the menu. Channels can also be given friendly names instead of a simple number, and the default channel names can be customized.

The KG-S88G Plus is designed for maximum cross-compatibility with other Wouxun branded GMRS radios. It uses the same antenna connector as other Wouxun GMRS radios, and there are multiple antenna options available. It also uses the same 2-pin Kenwood style (K1) audio connector found on many other radios, so headsets, speaker mics and other audio accessories are no problem at all.
Yes. Even though this radio is fully compatible with license free FRS radios, it has several features that make it fall under
the GMRS service and not FRS. Some of these features are: 5 watts of power (FRS limit is 2), removable antenna (FRS must be fixed),

Still a nice little radio
I already have several KG-S88G radios and when the Plus model came out with Bluetooth I wanted to give it a try. The radios are identical in outward appearances. The Plus model doesn't even have a + next to the KG-S88G label. The Bluetooth functionality is a disappointment to me. I didn't realize that when in Bluetooth mode the only way to transmit is with VOX. The PTT button is disabled both on the radio and when using a speaker mic. I was able to pair to my hearing aids first try and RX is great. VOX using hearing aids isn't close to ideal. I understand they probably didn't add Bluetooth with hearing aids being there target. However, since the KG-S88G only receives in the 400 MHz range there isn't that much to listen to. A wide RX radio like my KG-935G+ would, in my opinion, benefit more from the BT.
Don't get me wrong, The KG-S88G Plus is a great radio and I will definitely use it. I am disappointed with the BT only being able to TX using VOX but, had I done more research I would have known that (and would not have purchased the Plus version). If you are looking for a solid,simple to use GMRS radio with an IP67 rating this is great radio. And, since they no longer sell the non-Plus model the BT is definitely an upgrade. BTWR is a great place to shop and buy and they have great customer service.

Bluetooth sucks NO PTT button when BT connected STUPID NEW KB-S188G Plus
I bought two of KG-S88G Plus radios to use the bluetooth when EMTB
PTT Button disable when bluetooth connected.
Must use VOX which sucks when it windy.
Because of this you need to be able to use the PTT when connected via BT.
I have never used vox on any radio that worked outside in noisy conditions. And you don't need a waterproof radio for inside.

TidRadio H3 really has more features.

Surprisingly better than I thought!
They are smaller than I thought, but with a good sturdy solid feel. Sound quality is great and louder than you would think. The superheterodyne circuit keeps interference away. I haven’t tried every feature nor do I need every feature, but from a good sturdy standard quality Walkie-talkie these easily fit the bill and are worth the price.
Kgs88g plus
I bought two of these radios, one for my wife and one for myself. It's a nice and small radio. Build quality is solid. The speaker is nice and loud . It doesn't have NOOA weather but that's not a big deal for me . I have other radios with that feature. Fantastic addition to my fleet of handhelds. Would buy them again.
Solid Radio
I wanted a superheterodyne handheld GMRS radio that I could read the screen in bright daylight and was at least IP66. For this specific radio I didn't care about dual watch (TDR), weather alerts or other bands - I just wanted a rugged radio that I could carry with me on my acreage or at our hunting lease. This model checked all my boxes and has been a great radio. I don't care about the Bluetooth option but it's nice to have that option if I want it.
