The Wouxun KG-UVD1P is a powerful Dual Band, Dual Frequency Dual Display and Dual Standby UHF/VHF Two Way Radio with a full feature set at a budget friendly price. This handheld has 4 watts UHF and 5 watts VHF, providing high HT power at a low cost.
The KG-UVD1P features 128 programmable memory channels with CTCSS and DSC Scan and 1750 Hz burst tone. It's bandwidth selectable, allowing you to select wide or narrow bandwidth at the press of a button. Bands can be freely set on the same channel for VHF TX-UHF RX or UHF TX-VHF RX. It's power selectable as well, giving you the option to transmit in high or low power mode.
If you want features, the Wouxun KG-UVD1P has them. The lighted LCD display is selectable in Channel Mode and the Power-On display message is customizable. The full featured keypad is backlit and voice prompts help you navigate the menu.
But there's more. Channel Name edit and display, priority channel scanning, a built-in 76-108Mhz FM radio, Dual Standby, DTMF encoding, transmit overtime and low voltage voice prompts, channel name edit and display, SOS function, VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation and a bright LED flashlight are all included in this radio.
The UVD1P is also rated IP55 water resistant, an added bonus when you are using it outdoors.
The KG UVD1P is powered by 7.4v 2600mAh USB-C Li-Ion battery pack. Power Saver Mode helps increase efficiency and maximize battery life.

Wouxun KG-UVD1P, have two of these
This radio is used both as business and Ham radio. Has good range and clear. Would be nice if encoder knob would still work after locking the keypad. So far, not a real problem.
Update on KG-UVD1P
Just wanted to add an update to my earlier review on this radio. After having used it a few days and testing some repeaters at 35 miles plus. I am impressed with range plus voice quality on this radio. Here in the mountains of Western North Carolina, it is a challenge for any radio. Don't know how it will hold up in the long run, but so far I am well pleased with this rig. Going to hook it up to beam ant pretty soon. For the price, you can't go wrong with it. I use three software programs for it. Chirp, KG-UV Commander plus the Wouxun. Each have their pros and cons. What I can't do with one, I do with the other.
Great Radio, Great Value
I bought this because I wanted a radio with the 220 Band This one does the job. Good audio quality Low interference Feels good in your hand Things I dont like If you have the auto backlight on, it stays on constantly while scanning. Only 2 options, on or off. So I keep it off if I am scanning to save battery. Not a big problem. Other then that, the green light for receive is so bright, when using in the car at night, it lights the whole car up. Aside from that, I am completely happy with it, just a couple little quirks.
good portable radio better than my uv-5r
radio is used on my boat and in the woods. the cost makes it a good choice should something happen to it. dropped in water or covered in snow.
Great little radio.
I use this radio daily as my radio club nets are linked to a 1.25 meter repeater that I can get from my place. The radio is built well and the service from Cricket Ventures is great.

We use this radio right now as a scanner and works great clear channels, and easy to program , eventually we will use the ham radio
