The Wouxun KG-1000G Plus is the mobile and base station radio that GMRS fans have been waiting for! With 30 GMRS channels and the ability to receive on multiple bands, this 50 watt powerhouse is full of functions and features that takes the GMRS experience beyond limited capabilities of the typical GMRS transceiver, and without an exorbitant price.
The KG-1000G Plus has 999 programmable memory channels with CTCSS and DCS encode/decode, 7 built-in NOAA weather channels, simultaneous reception, priority channel scanning, CTCSS/DCS scan, simultaneous dual mode operation, and an FM radio. You can select wide or narrow bandwidth (20KHz/12.5KHz) and select from four output power levels for optimal transmission. It also supports DTMF encoding/decoding.
But the Wouxun KG-1000G Plus isn't just a mobile two way radio, it's also capable of connecting to a second KG-1000G Plus to become full base or mobile repeater! Yes, that's right. You can connect two KG-1000G Plus radios together using the short (SCO-001) or long (SCO-002) display connection cables included in the package to create your own working repeater! Now that's a Plus!
And that's not all. The KG-1000G Plus has dual speakers with multiple speaker channel settings, plus a speaker built into the DTMF hand microphone. That's three total speakers!
All the standard features of a Wouxun mobile/base station are there too, such as the 1750Hz burst tone, Channel Name edit and display, group calls, 8 group descrambler, power management, stun and kill function, external speaker support, 4 configurable front panel buttons and a built-in cooling fan with adjustable cooling control. All extras, and for no extra fee.
A large, dual frequency LCD display is part of the KG-1000G Plus as well. The backlit buttons on the front panel help you see them in the dark. The full featured keypad on the handheld speaker mic is also backlit and voice prompts assist you with menu navigation.
The front panel is also customizable! The KG-1000G Plus includes two kinds of switchboard panels to fit your installation. Choose from an upward facing inclined panel or a flat panel for installation in your vehicle. The front panel as detachable and can be relocated separately from the radio chassis. The included 15 foot extension cable allows you to install it just about anywhere in your vehicle so you can have it right where you need it.
The KG-1000G Plus can also be powered by the optional Wouxun SPS31WIN Power Supply to turn your GMRS mobile receiver into a fully operational GMRS base station!

Yes. This radio is fully compatible with all 22 channel FRS, GMRS, or FRS/GMRS combo radios.
Yes! The KG-1000G Plus is FCC Part 95E type accepted for legal use on the GMRS. It is also Part 15B type accepted as a scanning receiver. The FCC ID is WVTWOUXUN20.
While this radio is compatible with other FRS/GMRS radios, this is not a consumer grade radio. It was designed with power users in mind. It has many advanced features that would usually appeal more to the avid GMRS operators, such as repeater support and the ability to use PC programming software to customize the channels list. When connected to a second KG-1000G Plus, it can even be converted into a GMRS repeater! You won't find this feature on other GMRS type accepted mobile radios.
Yes, if you use the programming software (available from the Downloads tab). The KG-1000G Plus supports up to 999 programmable channels, and with the software you can add new channels or even remove standard ones. The CTCSS/DCS tones can be customized for each channel and can be different for transmit and receive.

If you access different repeaters that use the same frequency but different tones, it's more convenient to add each combination to it's own channel instead of changing tones through the menu. Channels can also be given friendly names instead of a simple number, and the default channel names can be customized.

Yes. Even though this radio can communicate with license free FRS radios, it has several features that make it fall under
the GMRS service and not FRS. Some of these features are: Up to 50 watts of power (FRS limit is 2), removable antenna (FRS must be fixed),

Powerful mobile
The kg-1000g+ is the only mobile/base with power to clear the woodlands around me and the clarity of the voice is noticeably better than my other 2 GMRS radios.
Nice Radio \ Poor Mfg / Retailer Shipping
This looks to be a really nice radio. I haven't installed it yet but hoping it will turn out great. Sadly the radio shipped with parts floating around in the mfg box and the mfg box itself was not fully shut. Glad it was at least double boxed for shipping. BTWR sent me the parts that were loose in case I am missing anything but this should not be how a radio ships from either a mfg or the retailer.
Great Radio
I've had this radio for a week or so and have been happy with it so far. Loud and clear speakers and reception. The ability to setup scan groups by name instead of number and dual scan mode is a great feature.

I received my KG-1000Gplus in 3days. The radio is great and easy to program manually. The Manual is well written any easily understood. I WAS having trouble with my priority channel. I called the next day talked with John and he went in the warehouse got a unit”figured out my issue.He called me back within an hour and walked through the problem. Great Radio & Customer service.

Excellent GMRS mobile/base.
I have a Wouxun KG-1000G and a KG-1000G PLUS - they are both excellent GMRS transceivers. I would like to suggest however that for future specials that include a free mag mount antenna (or for orders that include a mag mount antenna) DO NOT INCLUDE THE MAG MOUNT IN THE SAME BOX AS THE RADIO. I believe that it MAY BE "POSSIBLE" that these strong magnets can alter the magnetic field within the iron core tuning slugs of the I.F. stages and others and thereby "detune" the radios from factory specs. It may also be possible to magnetize small "reed relays" thereby causing them to "stick" or slow their action. Speaker performance can also be degraded by altering their permanent magnetic fields. My KG-1000G PLUS arrived with the strong (car roof side) of the mag mount sitting (in it's cardboard box) placed DIRECTLY ON TOP of the radio box separated by a TOTAL of only about 3/4" of cardboard from the top of the radio itself. Cardboard does NOT contain or dampen magnetic fields! These very strong mag mount fields extend about 2 OR MORE inches through ANYTHING (including cardboard), as you can feel the VERY STRONG "pull" whenever these mag mounts are within about 2 inches of a car roof. I like to keep my new equipment as close to FACTORY ALIGNMENT as possible. No "NOTICEABLE" degradation of performance is noted thus far, but I do not have the factory test equipment nor the alignment specs available to determine whether any "detuning" has occurred in my radio. I suggest sending mag mounts in their own separate shipping boxes well padded so that the magnet is in the CENTER of the box as far away from the 6 outer sides as possible rather than being placed directly on top of the radio box. BTWR is a GREAT company & I have confidence that they will investigate this possible concern and take corrective action if required. Thanks for a GREAT Black Friday deal!
Nice Uprade from KG-1000G
Enjoy the radio a lot, and the upgrades from the 1000 to the 1000 PLUS are a nice touch. Had a problem a few days after receiving the radio - a crimped cable from the unit to the faceplate which prevented the radio from operating, but B2W assisted with troubleshooting and provided a replacement cable. Radio works like a champ.
