Wouxun KG-935G GMRS Radio
The KG-935G transmits on the 15 high powered GMRS simplex channels, 8 low powered simplex channels and all 8 GMRS repeater channels at up to 5.5 watts of power, with no special programming needed. It has dual receive capability on both UHF and VHF bands, a built-in NOAA weather Mode with weather alert, and an FM radio mode.
The KG-935G has 999 custom programmable channels with standard and non-standard CTCSS tones and DCS codes to eliminate unwanted interference. It also supports split tones and CTCSS/DCS tone scan! The KG-935G makes it easy to find and configure tones and codes to match existing radios in your group.
Of course, there are also the standard features usually found on other GMRS handhelds, such as channel scan, timeout timer, roger beep, button beeps and VOX, but that's just a given. The KG-935G goes way beyond all that by adding more advanced features such as Priority Channel Scan, Group Scan, channel and frequency modes, Busy Channel Lockout, three selectable power levels, selectable wide and narrow bandwidth, group call, all call, selective calling, English voice prompts, programmable function keys, and even a built-in stopwatch.
The KG-935G also has a large, full color dual channel display with four display color themes. It can display one or both A and B areas of the radio, as well as channel names, numbers or frequencies, plus incoming caller ID.
In addition to the advanced display, the KG-935G features a full DTMF keypad, TX and RX LED indicators, two programmable side keys and a built-in flashlight. The keypad is also backlit for easier operation in the dark.
As for durability, this radio is way beyond the typical consumer grade GMRS bubble pack. The KG 935G is rated IP66 for dust and water protection, which means it can take most outdoor elements with ease! It has complete protection against contact with dust, and can take water projected from any direction in powerful jets from up to an 12.5mm nozzle. That's a lot of force. With that kind of protection from the elements, the KG-935G is ready to take on your next adventure outdoors.
Top top it all off, the KG-935G is fully PC programmable. With an optional programming cable (PCO-001) and the Wouxun programming software available in the Downloads tab above, you can customize your KG-935G according to your needs.

While this radio is easy to use and is compatible with other FRS and GMRS radios, it was designed with power users in mind. It is
more durable, is higher wattage, is equipped with a more powerful battery and has better audio quality than typical consumer radios. It is also IP66 dust and waterproof. Basically, it is built like a business radio.
It also has advanced features that would usually appeal more to "power users," such as repeater support
and the ability to use PC programming software to customize the channels list.
Yes, if you use the programming software (available from the Downloads tab). The KG-935G supports up to 999 custom channels, and with the software you can add new channels or even remove standard ones. The CTCSS/DCS tones can be customized for each channel and can be different for transmit and receive.

The KG-935G is designed for maximum cross-compatibility with other Wouxun branded GMRS radios. It uses the same battery and charger as the KG-905G, and there are multiple antenna options available. It also uses the same 2-pin Kenwood style (K1) audio connector found on many other radios, so headsets, speaker mics and other audio accessories are no problem at all. If you already have the KG-905G and want to add the KG-935G to your GMRS operations, you're all set for accessories.
Yes. Even though this radio is fully compatible with license free FRS radios, it has several features that make it fall under
the GMRS service and not FRS. Some of these features are: 5 watts of power (FRS limit is 2), removable antenna (FRS must be fixed),

Great one-stop bundle
Great radio with a bundle of grab and go necessities make it a turn key solution.

Good GMRS bundle
We like the KG-935G units as a solid and significant upgrade for our farm radios (previously used midland GXT1000). The midlands are a great value, have a good carry size, and worked well on the farm but the battery life just didn't work for us and the button print wears off very quickly. The Wouxun 935 are a significant upgrade in feature set and the units have so far worked well for our use with great battery performance and, our favorite feature, the simultaneous dual channel receive.
The only two cons are (1) the display is not outdoor friendly and really cannot be seen well in sunlight, and (2) they are larger than the midlands.
Our ideal professional grade farm GMRS radio would be built to the size and quality standard of my yaesu VX-6r (including screw in hand mic port), have a bigger battery similar to the Wouxun 935g, have that great simultaneous dual channel receive, and be around the Wouxun price point.
We might get some Wouxun 905G units next and give them a go also; the only holdback is the lack of NOAA weather alerts. sounds crazy but NOAA is a must must since we don't have cell coverage on the farm and we want that heads up if a storm is blowing in quickly!
If anyone has other suggestions for a great farm GMRS radio that is reliable and rugged would love to hear about it!

This is a KEEPER! Great radios, easy to program.
I am not one to hesitate sending back a sub-par product but this set of radios is a KEEPER! They work great, have excellent range, especially with a Nagoya NA-771G antenna which doubled their range in my case. They are easy to program from the front panel and their computer based programming software works very well and is easy to use. They come in a convenient carry case which holds the radios, base chargers and stick antennas. Kudos to Owouxan!

Awesome deal and proven valuable
We got these because we go camping and take our jeep with us. Many places we go have limited service but these radios allow us to stay in contact with others in the area if weather or other issues arise.
